JANUARY

OVERVIEW

January began with quite a lot of panic, a constant nervousness for the beginning of the exchange. I had been holding off on packing for as long possible until it had to be done, it made it seem like I was leaving much sooner and I wasn’t ready for that. I had also been researching a computer that was light, suited my needs and cheap. I found one! I was was figuring out how to use Iphone6 that my grandpa gave me (which I love to bits).

EVENTS

Saying Goodbye

Even though I had said goodbye to my classmates I met up with my close friends a few times more. We went to the lake, and walked through Katoomba and to Manly… any excuse to hangout before I left Australia.

Our holidays were limited because of the fire threat on our property, we didn’t really go away like we usually do to the South Coast for a couple of weeks but instead we saw one side of the family in Wollongong for a morning swim and breakfast. The other half met at Bronte beach for a picnic lunch and another swim. Tonight (the night before I leave) I will be eating my favourite meal – Lamb Roast – with mum, dad, my sister and Pinkus.

AS YOU CAN TELL, I HAVE A PRETTY AWESOME FAMILY

Am I Prepared?

After 8 months of learning spanish, fretting about the exchange, learning about my host family and club, I feel I am as prepared as I can be. My spanish could use a little polishing and my posting skills might need assistance. But with 28 hours till I leave Australia what will be will be and I don’t really want to be ‘so’ prepared that there is nothing for me to learn or experience – highly unlikely anyway!

Adios Australia

THE MONTHLY

“When the time is right, you will know. Not becuase you feel ready and confident, but because you don’t. You will nervous and full of empty places that need filling, but that is why they are empty. What is an adventure that lacks in the seeking of knowledge or a risk decision without fear… nothing, thats what.”
